About - Golden State Physicians Medical Group

Golden State Physicians Medical Group was established in 1992.

In 1996, we partnered with Blue Shield of California. Blue Shield, the most-recognized group of health insurance providers in the World, serves both inpatient and outpatient needs. The joining of these two dynamic health organizations has served to strengthen and broaden services to the Sacramento managed care population.

In 1997, we reorganized as an independent practice association (IPA), governed mainly by primary care physicians practicing in the Sacramento region. And, in 1998 we partnered with Western Health Advantage, a nonprofit joint venture among Mercy Healthcare Sacramento, UC Davis Health System and the NorthBay Healthcare System in Fairfield.

Our physicians are unique in that they are able to meet the needs of the diverse socioeconomic and ethnic populations throughout Sacramento. GSPMG is able to provide physicians and members with multi-lingual interpreters and educational needs.

Along with our HMO partners, we are dedicated to bringing a high level of service to a diverse population in the Sacramento area. We continue to bridge the gap between traditional health care and ethnic/minority populations to ensure quality and continuity of care. At the same time, we are able to provide the highest level of support to our provider network.
